abcam Lipoxygenase Assay Kit

In the Lipoxygenase Assay Kit (ab241038) lipoxygenase converts the LOX substrate to an intermediate that reacts with the probe generating a fluorescent product. The increase in fluorescent signal can be recorded at Ex/Em 500/536 nm and is directly proportional to LOX activity. The kit includes 5-lipoxygenase enzyme (LOX Enzyme) as a positive control. A lipoxygenase inhibitor that completely inhibits lipoxygenase activity is also included to calculate the specific activity of LOX in biological samples. The kit can detect as low as 0.004 mU/mg protein. This product is manufactured by BioVision, an Abcam company and was previously called K978 Lipoxygenase Activity Assay Kit (Fluorometric). K978-100 is the same size as the 100 test size of ab241038.  

The quality of HiYield™ Plasmid Mini Kit is test on a lot-to-lot basis. The kits are tested by isolation of plasmid DNA from 3ml culture of E.coli DH5 transformed with the plasmid pUC19(A600>2units/ml). More than 20μg of plasmid DNA was quantified with spectrophotometer.
