Carbonic anhydrases (CA) are zinc enzymes present in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. They efficiently catalyze the reversible hydration of CO2 to bicarbonate. Carbonic Anhydrase (CA) Activity Assay Kit (ab284550 - K472) can be used to measure CA activity in biological samples like serum and hemolysates. The assay utilizes the esterase activity of an active CA on an ester substrate which releases a chromophore. The released product can be easily quantified using an absorbance microplate reader. In the presence of a CA specific inhibitor, the enzyme loses its activity which results in a decrease of absorbance.

This assay kit (ab284550 - K472) is simple and can be used to measure CA activity in biological samples like hemolysate, serum and purified CA activity, CA activity in biological samples like hemolysate and serum in a high-throughput format.

This product is manufactured by BioVision, an Abcam company and was previously called K472 Carbonic Anhydrase (CA) Activity Assay Kit (Colorimetric). K472-100 is the same size as the 100 test size of ab284550.

The quality of HiYield™ Plasmid Mini Kit is test on a lot-to-lot basis. The kits are tested by isolation of plasmid DNA from 3ml culture of E.coli DH5 transformed with the plasmid pUC19(A600>2units/ml). More than 20μg of plasmid DNA was quantified with spectrophotometer.
