Proteinase K is strong proteolytic activity on a wide variety of denatured and native proteins of high molecular weight. It is a
nonspecic serine protease and is not inactivated by metal ions, chelating agents (e.g., EDTA), sulfhydryl reagents or by trypsin or
chymotrypsin inhibitors. The temperature optimum for the enzyme is 65°C; it is twelve times more active at 65°C than at 25°C.
The quality of HiYield™ Plasmid Mini Kit is test on a
lot-to-lot basis. The kits are tested by isolation of plasmid DNA from 3ml
culture of E.coli DH5 transformed with the plasmid pUC19(A600>2units/ml).
More than 20μg of plasmid DNA was quantified with spectrophotometer.
